ESB worker, 60, jailed for sex assaults on babysitter

A 60-year-old man from Ballinlough, Cork, who worked in the ESB for 40 years and had no previous convictions of any kind was jailed for 18 months yesterday for sexual assaults on a babysitter in the 1980s.

Patrick O’Sullivan, of 23 Silverdale Avenue, Ballinlough, Cork, was jailed by Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

Det Garda Paul Radley said the victim complained to gardaí in May 2014 about the indecent assaults on her in the 1980s when she was aged around 13 and babysitting the defendant’s daughters.
