Gardaí are hoping to speak to a Co Limerick farmer today who almost died when thieves ran him down in a speeding car.

Such were his injuries that Jerry Doody, aged 68, had to be airlifted to University Hospital Limerick where he underwent surgery for multiple fractures.

He was alerted to a car in his yard at Ahawilk, Feoghanagh, last Saturday afternoon.
