Two sisters beaten and held hostage

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following an alleged false imprisonment and attack on two women who claim they were held hostage by men they met on Facebook.

The Rice sisters, Amy, aged 21, and Nicole, 19, from Tallaght, Dublin, told gardaí they agreed to meet with two men they first made contact with on Facebook almost three weeks ago, but that the meeting quickly soured and the men beat them savagely.

The girls agreed to travel to Newbridge, Co Kildare, to meet the men, aged 25 and 30, for a drink last Thursday. They met at a bus stop before travelling to an apartment in Francis Lane shortly after 7.30pm.
