Gardaí believe a fatal stabbing in Pallasgreen, Co Limerick, on Thursday night happened during a drink-fuelled row at a house party.

The dead man, Shane Murphy, aged 31, was from Lee Estate, St Mary’s Park, Limerick. Two men, aged 20 and 31, arrested at the scene, were still being questioned by gardaí at Henry Street and Roxboro Road stations last night.

It is believed the dead man had been staying with a woman, aged 34, at her council home in The Grove for a number of months. About seven people, all adults from Limerick city had gathered at the house on Thursday night for a party.
