Finance Minister Michael Noonan has claimed he was “very forthcoming” with details on the Siteserv deal despite failing to highlight problems during Dáil questions over a four-month period.

His comments come as Independent Kildare TD Catherine Murphy, who has been probing the deal asked Central Bank governor Patrick Honohan to intervene in the controversy and release the names of those who traded Siteserv shares in the eight months leading up to the IBRC sale of the company.

The sale of Siteserv is now the subject of a Government-sanctioned review by special liquidators to IBRC alongside 30 transactions by IBRC (formerly Anglo Irish Bank and Irish Nationwide) which cost more than €10m.
