Man, 40, charged with child sex offences ‘court hasn’t seen before’

A 40-year-old man has appeared in a court in Kerry, charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a child – offences , some of which, according to the judge, the court had never come across before.

The man has been remanded on bail on strict conditions, including that he must not make contact with named persons through social media.

Garda Sinéad Stack gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution on April 21 at the accused man’s home and of bringing him to a Garda station.
