William Slattery, aged 62 and his son Jonathan, aged 35, directors of Slattery Ventures Ltd, Ballycummin, Limerick, and with an address of 68 The Forts, Dooradoyle, pleaded guilty at Limerick Circuit Court to “consenting or conniving” to defaud Revenue through Vat returns and rebates on dates between 2005 and 2008 at four outlets.

Judge Tom O’Donnell was told the company’s finances were not up to the standard of their chips.
