€4 ticket sold at Meath garage wins over €10m in lottery

One punter bought the €4 quick pick ticket at Souhan’s Garage in Trim, Co Meath, on Saturday. The rollover jackpot had reached €10,650,121 when the winning numbers 30, 31, 32, 35, 37, 40, and the bonus number 44 emerged from the Lotto machine on Saturday night.
A National Lottery representative called Ena Souhan last night to let her know that the garage had sold the winning ticket.
The Souhans immediately put news of the win on their Facebook page and asked everyone to check their tickets.
The jackpot had been rolling over since early February when a pair from Newbridge, Co Kildare, won €10.23m.
Manager of the filling station, Ena Souhan, said she and her late husband, PJ, bought the garage in 1969.
“We are a family-run business and our customers are very loyal to us and kept us going over the years so we are beyond excited that the winning ticket was bought here,” Ena said yesterday.
“I wish the winner a lifetime of health and happiness with their winnings and I hope that it is one of my very loyal regular customers.”
Darren Souhan said that his father died last November following an illness and the family were still grieving.
“We now think maybe he is looking down on us and giving us a bit of luck, “ said Darren. The garage that has a significant local trade is on Haggard St across from a SuperValu store.
While the garage previously had a Winning Streak and a Fame and Fortune winner, this is the first occasion that it has had a Lotto winner. As the seller of the winning ticket, the Souhan’s will be in line for a taxable agent bonus of €15,000.
Another person won €350,000 in the Lotto Plus 1 draw. That wining ticket was sold in Centra, Pearse St, Kinsale, Co Cork. The winning numbers were 6, 7, 11, 15, 18 and 21. The bonus number was 22.
There was also a winner of the Lotto Plus 2 draw. The winner bought the ticket online and won the top prize of €250,000 when their numbers came up: 5, 11, 15, 18, 23, 37. Bonus 28.
