A man in his early 80s was killed in a single vehicle crash on the outskirts of Cork City yesterday.

The single-vehicle accident happened on the Glanmire-Knockraha road near Glenmore Stores at about 2.30pm.

The driver of the vehicle was the sole occupant of the car and was named locally as Richie Browne, a retired plumber who lived at Marble Park, Riverstown, Glanmire.
