The woman killed in yesterday’s head-on collision in north Cork has been named as 35-year-old Pamela Ahern from Dungourney.

Ms Ahern’s Kia Sportage was travelling on the R628 in the direction of Conna when it collided with a Land Rover driving towards Rathcormac at about 8.30am.

She was pronounced dead at the scene at Kilcor, about 6km east of Rathcormac and her body was removed to Cork University Hospital. The driver of the Land Rover, a man in his late 30s, was injured and he was brought to Cork University Hospital where he was said to be in a stable condition.
