Murder accused Graham Dwyer described victim Elaine O’Hara as “that awful girl” in a letter to his wife.

The letter, sent last February to Gemma Dwyer, was read out at the trial in the Central Criminal Court yesterday.

Seán Guerin SC, prosecuting, said the accused had written to his architect wife: “Do not believe the gardaí. They actually have no evidence, apart from my name and someone else’s phone number in that awful girl’s diary.
