Two months short of her fourth birthday, the little girl from Castlegregory, Co Kerry, who can not talk or walk, yesterday settled her High Court action against the HSE with an interim payout of €2.5m to cover the next three years.

Skye, through her mother Colleen Worthington, had sued the HSE as a result of injuries sustained during her delivery at Kerry General Hosptial, Tralee, in April 2011. The court was told liability had been admitted.

Skye has cerebral palsy, can only sit for a while, has to be fed through a tube, and can only communicate with her eyes.
