More beds for rough sleepers

Up to 1,301 families in Dublin were identified as being at risk of homelessness at the end of last year, according to the Homeless Executive.

The authority said Dublin City Council was still actively looking at extra bed capacity options but large numbers of people sleeping rough had accessed emergency housing.

Publishing an update on efforts to tackle the homeless crisis in the final months of 2014, it yesterday stated there were an extra 271 beds operational across Dublin.
