Even with technologies such as Skype, Irish emigrants still crave for more news from home, a study has found.

Irish emigrants craving news from home

The research was carried out by the Global Limerick Network (GLN) for Limerick City and County Council.

More than half (53%) of 364 respondents said they emigrated to seek better employment opportunities. More than 25% travelled abroad in search of travel and adventure, while 20% left to seek a better standard of living.
