Plan to rename South Ring hits a bump

A bid to name one of Cork’s busiest roads after the War of Independence group, Cumann na mBan, has hit a speed bump.

But the county councillor behind the idea has insisted he plans to drive on regardless.

Mid Cork-based Fianna Fáil county councillor Aindrias Moynihan won unanimous support last week for his proposal to rename the South Ring Road after Cumann na mBan.
