This recruitment drive is part of the hospital’s recent commitment to more than double its workforce over the next two years, and to invest a further €70m in the state-of-the-art hospital.

The 75-bed private hospital at City Gate Mahon said it is recruiting for nurses across a range of specialities including surgical, medical, day therapy, endoscopy, cardiology and theatre.

They want to hire nurses across all levels, from graduates to clinical nurse managers, and flexible working arrangements will be on offer.

The new positions are permanent and include full-time, part time and ‘bank’ opportunities and as the hospital continues its expansion, career development opportunities for successful applicants will arise.

“We welcome all disciplines of nurses and hope that the timing of our open interviews will cater for those who might be travelling home to Cork over the Christmas break,” the hospital’s HR manager, Sheila Maguire, said.

The interviews will take place with the nurse management team and HR department from 10am to 2pm on Tuesday, December 30 and interested candidates have been advised to bring an up-to-date copy of their CV with them on the day.

Since opening in 2013, the Mater Private Cork’s objective has been to become the leading private hospital in Munster and to attract to Cork some of Ireland’s leading consultants, nursing staff, and health professionals.

The purpose-built high-spec hospital has four high-end operating theatres, a latest-generation Siemens cardiac suite and Ireland’s most modern diagnostic imaging suite.

Its single-occupancy en-suite rooms, available to all patients irrespective of their insurance cover, provide high hygiene and infection control standards — a first for Ireland.

The Cork facility provides a full range of services and already has a recognised expertise in cardiology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, gynaecology, urology, general surgery and gastroenterology.

In September, the hospital announced the creation of 150 new jobs as part of a plan to grow its workforce from 100 to 250 over the next two years. Most of the new jobs are postgraduate posts and include doctors, nurses and other health professionals.

Full details on the latest job opportunities are available on the Mater’s website at www.materprivate.ie.
