Elber Twomey, whose entire family was killed by a car crash, has been honoured by the Road Safety Authority for her road safety campaign.

On July 6, 2012, Elber, 38, lost her husband, Con, 39, her 16-month-old son, Oisin, and her unborn daughter, Elber Marie, when a suicidal taxi driver drove into their car during a family holiday in Britain.

Her husband suffered catastrophic injuries and died in intensive care at Cork University Hospital almost 10 months later.
