Possible deal on pensions for ex-Waterford Crystal Workers

A pension deal for former Waterford Crystal workers seems likely to be signed off this week, with hopes that it can be put to the workers as early as Saturday.

It is understood that the proposed deal — which it is believed would grant €1,000 per year of service to workers at the now-closed plant — will be brought before Cabinet tomorrow.

It is believed that the Government could sign-off on the plan by or on Thursday, with the deal then placed before a general meeting of former Waterford Crystal workers on Saturday.
