EirGrid to be more upfront about its plans

Electricity grid operator EirGrid is to overhaul its consultation process on major infrastructure developments.

The semi-state company has “largely” accepted the conclusion of two independent studies and intends taking a more “community-focused” approach when developing electricity projects.

It will also seek political support to better explain energy issues in a way that shows the benefits of a stronger electricity system.
