Gangsters steal 15,000 bottles of whiskey

Thousands of cases of Jameson and Jack Daniels — as well as Bombay Sapphire gin — were taken during the violent burglary in west Dublin.

A pair of iron bar-wielding criminals tied up two workers at an alcohol warehouse in the Parkwest Industrial Estate after forcing them to open up the loading bay. At least three accomplices joined the gang and stacked the drink into two trucks before making off towards the M50 and M7 motorways.

The haul includes 2,580 six-bottle cases of Jameson and an undisclosed amount of Bombay Sapphire and Jack Daniels cases.

While the burglary happened on November 14, between 3pm and 4pm, details have only been released now. Detectives expect the gang will try to sell the bottles on the black market over the festive season.
