Free haircuts and hugs for people in need

People in need were treated to free haircuts and free hugs during a special event aimed at spreading happiness yesterday.

Fed up with the almost constant narrative of doom and gloom, Cork-based event manager Edelle Notte decided to banish the negativity by launching her ‘Happy’ initiative.

Edelle has devised a series of monthly events she hopes will put a smile on people’s faces and a spring in their step, and hosted her first event in Joseph’s Hair Salon in Glasheen, on the southside of Cork City yesterday afternoon.
