A secondary school in Midleton, Co Cork, has won the VEX Robotics challenge and will now compete in the world championships in Kentucky.

St Colman’s outdid 14 other teams who were challenged to create remote- controlled and programmed robots using VEX Robotics technology.

The EMC-run initiative is designed to boost interest in science and technology subjects. Each team was assigned a mentor from EMC to guide them in building, programming and testing their robots over the past three months.
