An additional endangerment of life charge has been brought against a 66-year-old Dublin man charged with wrecking the historic wooden front gate of Trinity College Dublin in April.

John Farrell, from Fassaugh Avenue, Cabra, had been charged in October with 21 offences including allegations of criminal damage, endangerment of life, dangerous driving, and hit-and-run in connection with the incident.

He appeared again at Dublin District Court yesterday when a new charge of endangerment of life at Trinity College on April 2 was put to him.
