Share your selfless selfie and be part of our SVP fundraiser

The Irish Examiner wants to turn selfies selfless this Christmas and we need your help.

How? Well it couldn't be simpler.

Take a Christmas selfie (or group selfie if you wish) and share it with us via Twitter or Facebook using the hash tag #selfie4svp.

You can also post your selfie directly on our Facebook page right HERE .

In return for your selfless selfie we will donate €1 to SVP – up to a total of €10,000.

We will also publish as many selfies as we can right here on irishexaminer.com, on our various social media accounts and in print in our Christmas Eve edition.

So go on get your camera out and share your #selfie4svp.

Commenting on the initiative Karen O’Donoghue, the Irish Examiner's Marketing Manager, said everyone associated with the Irish Examiner were delighted to support St Vincent de Paul as part of the company’s annual Christmas Charity initiative.

"We believe #selfie4svp is a great way for everyone to show their support to an extremely worthwhile campaign. It gets people involved and creates awareness of SVP in a fun and festive way.

"SVP provides invaluable care, emotional and financial support to people living in poverty, a cause that holds strong in people's hearts, making it a charity we want to get behind. It has been a tough year for charities so our campaign with SVP is an important demonstration of giving something back."

Linda O’Connell, National Online & Media Coordinator, Society of St Vincent de Paul, Ireland, went on to express her delight at the fact that the Irish Examiner had chosen St Vincent de Paul to benefit from a "novel and exciting Christmas charity initiative".

"It is vital to supporting the thousands of people in need throughout the country. Everyone has a story either directly or indirectly and we rely on the generosity of individuals and organisations like Irish Examiner to help us raise funds so that we can maintain and grow our services.”
