Popular Cork suburbs see property sales soar

Douglas, Mallow, Carrigaline, Midleton, and Ballincollig have had the highest volume of property sales across Cork so far this year, according to a property valuation website.

A total of 2,860 properties have been sold in Cork between January and September 2014 — a 42% increase on the same period in 2010 — according to a report by ValueMyProperty.ie.

The report found that Douglas, Mallow, Carrigaline, Midleton, and Ballincollig have had the highest volume of sales so far this year, followed closely by Youghal and Bandon. The report also reviewed the availability of three bedroom semi-detached houses in the most sought-after areas in Cork, which are a popular choice for families looking to upsize.
