McGurk seeks to stop development near his home

RTÉ broadcaster Tom McGurk and his wife, PR guru Caroline Kennedy, want to prevent a building firm’s residential development on a former hospital site near their home in Dublin 4.

An architect acting on behalf of Mr McGurk and Ms Kennedy has told An Bord Pleanála the plan by Bryant Park Construction Ltd, if it proceeded, “would undoubtedly cause a considerable decrease in the value of their home.”

Forty years on television this year, Mr McGurk has anchored RTÉ’s rugby coverage for the past 17 years, and was formerly married to RTÉ presenter Miriam O’Callaghan.
