Dublin-based food giant Keelings sacked Peter Boyne and Elton John Moran after a probe into the pastry mystery included a crime-scene reconstruction on the warehouse floor.

Keelings employs 2,000 people and enjoys annual revenues of around €300m. In the case, Keelings Logistics Solutions, a subsidiary of Keelings, sacked the pair after concluding they had tampered with a packet from which two tarts were missing.
