Latvian man in court over car-jacking

A Latvian man charged in connection with a car-jacking has been remanded in custody.

Janis Zarans, aged 29, from 15 Weaver’s Hall, Market Square, Longford, did not apply for bail when he appeared before Harristown District Court in Roscommon yesterday.

Zarans is charged with the false imprisonment of Sabrina Cence at Heaton’s Car Park, Townspark, Longford, on October 29.
