Retailers want a halt to yuletide roadworks

Business leaders in Cork City have called for a halt to major roadwork schemes on key routes in the run-up to Christmas.

“It is a major concern for business,” said Lawrence Owens, the chief executive of the Cork Business Association.

“We are in the middle of a free-parking initiative and there is an element of shooting ourselves in the foot about this.
