Among those who have flown in to attend the second Richard Harris Film Festival are his sons, Emmy-nominated actor Jared Harris (Mad Men, Sherlock Holmes, Lincoln, Pompeii, Mortal Instruments), Jamie Harris (Planet of the Apes, In the Name of the Father, American Horror Story) and Richard Harris’s grand daughter, Ella Harris.

Jack Reynor will receive the award for ‘Breakout Irish Actor for 2014’ at the festival.

Jack’s credits include Transformers: Age of Extinction, Glassland, Macbeth, Transformers 5 and Jungle Book: Origins.

Jack will be accompanied by his fiancĂ© Madeline Mulqueen, the model who starred in the video for Rubberbandits’ breakout song ‘Horse Outside’.

Noel Pearson, Limerick composer, Bill Whelan and musician Des Moore are among those who will celebrate Richard Harris over the weekend.

A spokesperson for the festival said: “It is appropriate the festival starts on a night when Munster are playing a big game at Thomond Park.

“Richard loved rugby and Thomond Park and in the 1951/52 season was a member of the Garryowen team which won the Munster Senior Cup at Thomond Park.

“A photograph of the team with Richard stands in Myles Breen’s famous rugby pub in Shannon Street.

“Also in that team was Gordon Wood, father of Keith Wood.”
