Good news signalled for boil notice households

Environment Minister Alan Kelly has said households on short-term boil notices can expect positive news regarding water charges as he signalled that the right to discounts will be eased.

Ahead of today’s announcements on water charges, Mr Kelly also said a list of medical conditions to allow for discounts for some users was not drawn up as it would have led to a series of challenges.

In an interview with the Irish Examiner, the deputy Labour leader indicated that thousands of households using dirty water will today hear of a further relief measures.
