Irish web portal doubles its number of archive collections

An Irish web portal has doubled the number of archive collections available free to the public online.

Represented by a voluntary group of professional archivists, Irish Archives Resource (IAR) launched an information flyer in the National Archives yesterday to mark the expansion of its portal, www.iar.ie.

The portal has archival collections from over 30 prominent archive services around the country, north and south.
