Containers for culled badgers sought

Up to 25,000 containers are being sought for culled badgers, as the Department of Agriculture admits the introduction of badger TB vaccinations could take a number of years.

Ireland has often been criticised by animal rights groups for culling badgers in an effort to control the spread of bovine TB.

Last month Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney expressed his hope that targeted badger culling could be replaced with vaccinations in the “not too distant” future.
