Mayo Mick says his pitchside entrance "will never happen again"

The Mayo fan who sprang to public attention with his incursion onto the Gaelic Grounds pitch following Saturday’s All-Ireland semi-final replay said: "It will never happen again."

Mick Barrett became the focus of the television cameras after Saturday’s tempestuous clash when he stormed onto the pitch in Limerick, seemingly intent on having a few words with referee Cormac Reilly.

It ultimately took five men to escort him from the field, as the Castlebar man became the talk of social media following a match already being hailed as a modern-day classic.
