RTE has broadcast "99%" of all the programmes bought in the past five years

RTÉ has revealed that 99% of all the programmes it bought between 2009 and 2013 inclusive made it to air.

Responding to a Freedom of Information request, the national broadcaster said two commissioned programmes within the five-year period were pulled from the schedules due to legal issues.

It also said that any other programmes within the 1% of shows which were bought but not subsequently shown could be attributed to “a number of factors”, including in the case of some American shows, the series being scrapped after a pilot had already been aired.
