Irish in Libya urged to evacuate by sea

A Maltese ferry company that normally runs services between Malta and Italy is seeking permission to dock at Tripoli port to offer around 300 passengers a safe way out of the growing violence.
Tickets for the six-hour trip back to Malta with Virtu Ferries are €1,000 each and passengers will only be able to bring essential belongings as the vehicle-carrying capacity of the company’s fleet is low.
