The country’s largest chain of toy shops has begun an internal investigation after one of its stores cleared Israeli-made toys from its shelves.

Smyths Toys in Jervis St, Dublin, removed the items last week, notifying customers via a sign on the entrance with the official Smyths logo.

Customers who queried the move were told it was taken in protest against Israel’s actions in Gaza and the boycott would continue for the forseeable future.
