Some of the world’s best known tattoo artists jetted in to Ireland for the opening of the Love Hate Social Club, which unlocked its doors for the first time in Cork on Saturday.

Love them or hate them, expert tattoo artists set up shop in Cork

The studio is co-owned by world-famous tattoo artist Ami James of Miami Ink and Irish legend Ross Nagle of Allstar Ink.

James, who rose to fame through the hit TV show Miami Ink, was joined at the opening by co-stars Tommy Montoya, Darren Brass, Luke Wessman, Lee Rodriguez, and Damion Ross.

Ross Nagle said he was confident the tattoo studio on French Church St in Cork would be one of the top studios in Ireland.

“It’s been a lot of hard work to get some of the world’s best (tattoo artists) together but we are sure that we have perfected it with our award-winning tattooers and state-of-the-art shop.”

James, who runs Love Hate studios in Miami and Notting Hill in London, worked briefly with Nagle in Miami where they hit it off and fast became friends.

The shop in Cork will play host to some of the top artists in the world, including James and Nagle, who will both be working in the studio, as will Damion Ross from the NY Ink shop. Damion is moving from New York to work in the shop alongside Sean Martin and Paul O’Rourke.

O’Rourke, who is known for producing some of the cleanest traditional tattoos in the industry, with an outstanding flair for creating tribal/Maori-style tattoos, is excited about moving to Cork as he has been expanding his talents by creating intricate geometrical tattoos.

Joe Myler from Waterford, along with Paul Aherne from Dublin, will both be weekly guests in the studio.
