A 29-year-old man charged in connection with a ‘barbaric’ attack on three pensioner siblings at their isolated home in Limerick will serve no time in jail after receiving a suspended jail sentence.

William Gammell, a father of four from An Cuirt, Monard, Co Tipperary, pleaded guilty at Limerick Circuit Court to a charge of aggravated burglary at the rural home of the Creed family at Ballyluddy, Pallasgreen, on the evening of May 31, 2012.

Gardaí have two other suspects in connection with the crime and the investigation remains open.
