Elderly peace activist Margaretta D’Arcy was back out on streets yesterday (TUES) protesting about Shannon Airport being used as a stopover for US military airplanes, just a few days after release from prison.

The 80-year-old, who is suffering with cancer, spent over a week in jail for refusing to sign a bond agreeing to stay away from restricted areas at Shannon Airport.

While TDs Clare Daly and Mick Wallace took their protest to Shannon Airport yesterday (TUES), Ms Darcy was on the streets of Galway to hand out literature against the continued use of Shannon Airport by the US army.
