An Irish soccer fan, who was in the stands for the World Cup semi-final between Germany and Brazil, is the envy of his pals after leaving the stadium with one of the match balls.

Kevin Treanor and his son, Oisín, had prime seats behind the goal as they watched Germany make history by destroying the host nation 7-1 in Belo Horizonte last Tuesday.

But Kevin, from Co Monaghan, got his hands on a prized souvenir when a wayward shot by Brazilian player, Bernard, sent the ball rocketing into the arms of his son.
