Some brands of dishwasher may pose a fire hazard

Up to 14,500 dishwashers manufactured under the Hotpoint and Indesit brands and sold here could pose a potential fire risk and need to be examined.

The machines were manufactured between 2008 and 2010 and are separate to a similar recall for products which were manufactured earlier than those years.

Hotpoint said it is aware of “a small number of cases” of dishwashers where an electrical component has failed.
