The estate that is the jewel in former billionaire Tony O’Reilly’s crown, which includes the graveyard where his parents lie, is free to be sold by AIB to help pay a €22.6m debt.

The High Court told an insolvent Mr O’Reilly that he could not enjoy a six-month reprieve from a judgment registered against him on Monday.

This means the bank can now move against his assets, including his prized 750-acre Castlemartin estate and stud farm in Kildare.
