Varadkar hints at interest in health portfolio

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar has hinted he would have a preference for moving to health in the upcoming Cabinet reshuffle, but has stressed it is a sector where there will always be difficulties.

His comments came as Labour leadership candidate Joan Burton, the Social Protection Minister, indicated that several ministers will lose their positions if she is elected Tánaiste by party members.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny is expected to decide the reshuffle in the coming weeks, once the contest for a new Labour leader is over next Friday.
