Baby torn from mother’s arms 40 years ago

Marion Kelly’s story would bring tears to the eyes of the most cold-hearted person.

The trauma she suffered from having her baby son torn from her arms at Bessborough in 1974 was intolerable and, by her own admission, led her to suffer alcoholism.

Marion, from Douglas, Cork, was whisked to the centre after being induced at St Finbarr’s hospital.
