Soccer star Anthony Stokes has been warned his alleged assault on an Elvis impersonator was too serious to be dealt with in the Dublin District Court.

The Republic of Ireland and Celtic striker, 25, is accused of head-butting Anthony Bradley during a row about a spilled drink in a Dublin nightclub.

The footballer had been charged in March and made a second appearance at Dublin District Court yesterday where Judge Conal Gibbons asked to hear an outline of the prosecution’s evidence.
