Greyhound board review extended

Consultants brought in to assess the future of the Irish Greyhound Board have extended their work to conduct more detailed investigations into the troubled semi-state company.

The move comes as the longest-serving director on the board stepped down to be replaced by a former senior official at the Department of Agriculture and the European Commission.

The timetable for the consultants examining the company was extended, and Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney said their work will now be reviewed and the recommendations considered before the report is published.
