Jack and Jill back medical card call

A charity for children with life-limiting conditions has given its complete backing to a new petition calling for all seriously-ill children to automatically receive medical card help.

The Jack and Jill Foundation leant its support to the Our Children’s Health campaign after almost 40,000 people signed up to the initiative in just 48 hours.

The campaign, accessed at www.ourchildrenshealth.ie, has been set up by the family of Louise Shortall, 9, who faced a dual battle against leukaemia and HSE medical card red-tape for two years.
