Boy, 14, drove car without owner’s permission

Gardaí in Cork City became suspicious of a car being driven without lights after midnight and when they approached, they discovered the motorist was just 14 years old.

Judge John Coughlan yesterday asked at the in-camera juvenile court in Cork District Court how the teenager came to be driving a car through the city.

The boy pleaded guilty to the offence of driving the car without the owner’s permission.
