Funeral for Alps hiking victim

The funeral of a 25-year-old Cork teacher who “packed a lot into a short life” takes place today in Ballinlough.

Eoin Deasy, of Haig Gardens in Ballinlough, Co Cork, died in a hiking accident in the Swiss Alps on April 17. His body was repatriated to Ireland late on Wednesday night.

An avid adventurer, he was living in Switzerland with his girlfriend Maria.
